Hi. I like your dolls andmetal work. I am a struggling felter and doll maker and just spent some time in a small gallery in Minneapolis .I live near there in a small suburb called Apple Valley. The owner of the gallery told me fibers were difficult and dolls were even more dificult to sell. I don’t do thigs just to sell them.I do what I like but it would be nice to pay for the materials some time. What is your take on her comment that Fibers fall between the cracks as well as dolls as people trivialize them into crafts and not fine arts and don’t want to spend themolney of crafts as much. I am about ready to stop doing the felting. It has no understanding in any venue and dolls are not looked at as art in the way that I do them only wen they are done pristinely in character or such. That is not what I do. ????Dina

Dina I have just been re-reading the many many beautiful and heartfelt condolences written by many who knew and loved Susan. It ment a great deal to me that you wrote. I tried to locate you on the net and found your blog on this site and decided to email you. Firstly let me say Shana Tova. I have all the New Years cards you ever gave me and Cherish all your beautiful pieces of art and pottery. Susan loved the pieces of yours I framed and gave her. I could not find the Pesah pillow you painted for Drew. He is a beautiful, inside and out, 16 year old who i am now raising. We are very close and his pressence keeps me sane. My only phone now is 228 235-9990. Have been trying to sell my house for a year. No Bites!
I turned grey the night Susan died and i wear my long long gray un cut hair with dignity. Do not do much just grieve. Hope you will contact me dispite our one difference (which i never was able to articulate the sad reason) we always were great together. Hope you are well. Love Ronnie Ornstein
